Our youth program is designed for 7-12 year olds. It is a traditional Martial arts program in that it teaches punches and kicks of the very popular martial art Tang Soo Do. It is unique in the fact we mix in Jujitsu and Kenpo as part of the standard curriculum. What does this mean to the student? Nothing more than they have more tools available to them when they choose to defend themselves. Youth karate teaches the physical elements of martial arts as well as the teachings of the masters in regards to respect, courtesy, integrity, and honor.
The program is Monday and Wednesdays from 6:00 to 6:45 pm. Halls B and C
Progressive Tactics Adult karate is unique to the area in that we have hard and soft fist arts mixed in its requirements for rank. We have varying rank and ages in the class. We are one of very few clubs who can boast an adult progam almost equal in size to its youth program. Come hang out a class with our adult 'family'.. Modern arnis is a Filipino martial art created by Professor Remy Presas. It is a complete martial art using Kicking, punching, trapping, locking, throwing, ground fighting and more. It is most noted for its Stick (cane) and knife work. Typically- most of the class is spent with a rattan cane in hand doing self defense, striking, blocking, locking or throwing. This is a GREAT class to build coordination and learn very practical self defense. We are also honored to have Guro Carlton come to teach class about once a month. Guro trained with Professor several times before his passing, and has been very close in both organizations the professor had sanctioned to continue the art upon his passing. Guro Carlton is my direct instructor and one of the finest martial artists I know.
Class meets every Wednesday from 8-9pm Hall C
Our Kickboxing program was just added in April and is doing GREAT! It is a fighters class- meaning it is taught from the aspect of how to really defend or fight, if needed- not merely an aerobic workout- EVEN THOUGH it is that too. One hour of heart pumping, fist and foot flying, bobbing, weaving, punching, kicking, heart pounding ab crunching, leg lifting, good time! Great for those who can not commit alot of time. Nothing required except an open mind, but a towel and water bottle are suggested.
Mondays 8pm Halls B and C.
Wednesdays 7pm Hall B
