My name is Bill Barker. I am the owner of PTMA and happy to have you checking us out!  While there are alot of karate places in the Downriver area, and many offer good training- I think you will find we have a top notch program with instructors who truly care about your success, and have means to help you reach your goals!

is the Administrative manager to the club. She handles everything from new enrollements, to scheduling, payments, attendance and special parties/events.  She is a Black Belt in Modern Arnis and leads our kick boxing program.  She has been training with us since 2005 - and prides herself on near perfect attendance for classes and club functions.

 

Ms. Nicole Mulkey ms. Mulkey nicole@progressivetactics.com

has been with us since 1999. She is a 3rd degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, and has a black belt in  Modern Arnis.  She teaches primarily our Youth Karate - but does several one on one's and small group instructions.

Mr. Todd Wolney:  Mr. Wolney is a 2nd degree black belt who is the lead instructor of our Little Dragons program  A very inventive and talented instructor who teaches the 4-6 year olds about Marital arts and all the life skills that go with it.   Email  Mr Wolney at:  todd@progressivetactics.com

Mr. Brandon Cutshall is a 1st degree Black belt. He is the Assistant instructor of the Little Dragons group and is the Lead instructor of the Little Dragons Demo Team.  Email to: Brandon@progressivetactics.com

Mr. Wesley Lindeman is an assistant to the Youth and Little Dragon instructors.  A green belt at PTMA- Mr. Lindeman shows real potential as he is very talented and has alot of patience.

Guro Carlton is my Arnis instructor and a student of Progressive Tactics Martial Arts.   He has been in the martial arts for 15+ years and has trained in several arts but his base has always been in Tang Soo Do.  For those who have trained with him- you know his passion, talent, and drive for excellence through giving of himself.  He is a kind, gentle, and Powerful individual with a great deal of ability, and humility.  We are honored to have him with us, and be a part of his Fluid Force Martial arts (located on the links page).

has been studying martial arts since 1984.  He has trained directly in Tang Soo Do (4th dan, 1996), Jujitsu (1st dan- 1991), Kenpo (2nd dan-1991), skki kobudo (1st dan-1989), ba men chun fa, ai mute shoto kan, iaido, and Modern Arnis (1999).  He has taught in Flat Rock since 1985 under Master Noah Cadle, before opening his own school in northern Michigan in 1989.  Returning back down river in 1991- teaching for master Cadle and continueing to cross train everywhere.

In 1997- he opened "Barker's Tang Soo Do" in Brownstown and in 2000- changed the name to Progressive Tactics Martial Arts.  The school has been a part of the Brownstown Community since 1997 and has supported the community not only by offering top quality martial arts- but through community service.  From various fund raisers for local citizens, police organizations like DARE and GREAT, to the "Adopt a Highway" program- Progressive Tactics can be seen through out the town!
